Microsoft brings 9 more AI voices for Azure AI service users in all regions

Microsoft has recently updated Azure AI services with nine additional AI voices for better human-bot conversations which are generally available now. Back in September 2023, Microsoft introduced several realistic voices to Azure AI services for all the business customersÂ
In a recent blog post, Microsoft mentioned the newly added AI voices in Azure are useful for multiple tasks. They are useful for gaming, e-learning, entertainment, voice assistant, chatbots, and more.Â
Here’s the list of nine AI voices made available in all regions:

- en-US-AndrewMultilingualNeural
- en-US-EmmaMultilingualNeural
- en-US-BrianMultilingualNeural
- De-DE-FlorianMultilingualNeural
- De-DE-SeraphinaMultilingualNeural
- Fr-FR-RemyMultilingualNeural
- Fr-FR-VivienneMultilingualNeural
- zh-CN-XiaoxiaoMultiligualNeural
Talking about the newly added realistic-sounding voices in Azure AI services, Microsoft added:Â
This expansion broadens our capacity to articulate content across 91 languages and their variants. This advancement underscores our steadfast commitment to surmounting language barriers and promoting a more inclusive and accessible global communication landscape.
All the AI voices have distinctive tones and styles and are suitable for various applications. For example, Microsoft mentions en-US-EmmaMultilingualNeural voice is a friendly, light-hearted, and pleasant female voice that works well for e-learning and more. Likewise, the en-US-AndrewMultilingualNeural voice has a warm tone with an engaging male voice that sounds like someone you want to know.
Additionally, Microsoft mentioned other voices previously added to Azure services like en-US-RyanMultilingual and en-US-JennyMultilingualV2 (merged with en-US-Jenny Multilingual) are now generally available in all regions.
Let’s not forget that the updated version of en-IN-NeerjaNeural and hi-IN-SwaraNeural voices with three different styles in Southeast Asia, West Europe, and East US are available in preview.
Microsoft also mentioned that new female voices like en-IN-KavyaNeural, en-IN-AnanyaNeural, en-IN-AashiNeural, hi-IN-KavyaNeural, hi-IN-AnanyaNeural are available in preview in Central India.Â
While it is true that Microsoft is adding many realistic-sounding AI voices in Azure, it’s worth noting that the service also offers over 400 Text-to-Speech voices covering 140 languages and locales.Â
