After desktop, Brave browser’s AI Assistant, Leo, is now available for Android. Brave Leo is currently rolling out. Head to the Play Store and download the latest stable version to start using the AI feature right away.
In the era of Artificial Intelligence, we have intelligent assistants – such as Copilot from Microsoft and Gemini from Google – that can summarize, plan trips, and answer questions without needing to search. Now Brave Leo is joining them.
Brave browser, which needs no introduction, is a free, open-source browser based on Chromium. Unlike Opera, Edge, and Chrome, it blocks ads, trackers, and scripts by default, similar to Firefox. But what sets Brave apart is its integration with Crypto Currency.
Brave Leo AI, like Copilot and Gemini, can create page summaries, essays, and emails and translate between different languages. It also offers help with coding. Leo is available in the Brave browser for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It is now rolling out to the stable version of the Brave browser on Android, which you can download from the Play Store.

With Leo, you get answers from AI in the privacy-focused Brave. Unlike other AIs, Brave’s smart assistant doesn’t record or share chats or use them for model training. Leo recently started using the Mixtral 8x7B Language model, created by Mixtral AI, by default for advanced tasks.
Brave Leo is available in free and Premium versions. While the former version has a rate limit, the Premium subscription provides the benefit of a higher rate limit, access to new features, and queue priority access during peak times.
If you have a smartphone, you can visit the Google Play Store, search for Brave, and install or update the stable version. Version 1.63, based on Chromium 122, includes Leo.
Here’s how to use Brave Leo on Android:
- Launch Brave
- Tap on the three-dot menu
- Select Leo
- Type your prompt and submit. Like on the desktop, you can switch and use other LLMs such as Claude Instant for conversation and text generation and Llama 2 13B for general chat by tapping the 3-dot icon in Leo.
Leo allows you to upgrade to a Premium subscription that provides access to different AI models better suited for creative tasks and content generation and gets higher rate limits for more extended conversations. Leo also allows you to clear chat history, which includes all conversations with Leo.
With Copilot widely available on desktop and mobile and can be set as the default digital assistant, and Gemini available in some regions on Android, with Leo, users now have the option to get information from different AI assistants on Android.
